A series of frames will be made and erected in the practical sessions, and classroom sessions will cover the timber frame method, ecological building methods, design for low energy sustainable housing and appropriate services for low energy buildings.
After the frames are errected the building will need to be clad, the aim will be to complete a small building. You will have the opportunity to learn from people who have been building with the 'Walter Segal Method' for several years and have knowledge of many existing and completed community built and self build timber frame structures. It will give you the opportunity to learn how to 'fill in the gaps between the frames'.
