Full-time for one year or part-time for up to five years.
Biotechnology can offer both conventional and exciting novel solutions to environmental pollution problems as well as alternative cleaner manufacturing technologies. The course aims to meet a demand for engineers, technologists and scientists with knowledge of both environmental technology and biotechnology.
The course focuses on industrial processes, incorporating design and monitoring of waste treatment processes. As well as learning environmental technology fundamentals, with special focus on biological treatment processes, you look at environmental management and legislation.
Taught by a broad range of experts from academia and industry, the course included management, engineering and legislative aspects of the environment.
Much of the course material is provided electronically and several of the sections (Units) include one week of intensive lectures and seminars, running from Monday morning to Friday lunchtime.

FLEXIBLE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - Normally a 2(ii) degre is required but applications are also considered from those with relevant experience but lacking formal qualifications.

COMPETITIVELY PRICED - THE fee for the MSc in the 2008/09 academic year will be £13,480. Self-funded European Union (including UK) students may apply for a Scholarship to cover 50% of their fees.
Part-time students have the option of either paying the full fee when they begin the course or paying for each Unit for the taught element of the course in the academic year that it is studied. Students choosing to pay for individual Units should note that the fee will increase each year.
